This map includes Closure Areas for the Tonto, Kaibab, Coconino and Apache-Sitgreaves.Due to confusion over the closures, the Forest Service has put out this combined view map of the areas under closure orders.Closures, partial closures and fire restrictions are changing on a regular basis, which is causing some confusion as to wear you can and can’t go when it comes to visiting and recreating on our National Forests. These restrictions affect our National Forests, Arizona State Lands and Bureau of Land Management lands. It’s recommended that the public visit the website of the particular forest they’ll be visiting before heading out. One thing that is consistent across the state is the penalty for violating the restrictions. Cited violators will have to appear before a federal judge and could be fined $5,000 for a single person, $10,000 for a group or organization and or up to 6-months in jail. Coconino National Forest law enforcement officers have issued 48-citations so far this wildfire season.
