The American Red Cross is counting on volunteer donors to give blood and help ensure patient needs can be met this summer. Officials say around Memorial Day, the Red Cross sees a steep decline in blood donations due to busy summer schedules, vacations and school breaks with accidents and medical emergencies tending to be on the increase. Blood drives are currently scheduled in Prescott and Sedona in early May. To find a blood drive near you, visit www.redcrossblood.org or call 1-800-Red-Cross.
