The Flagstaff Police Department received a decline report from the Coconino County Attorney’s Office regarding an Officer Involved Shooting that occurred on February 9-th on West Coconino Avenue. Sgt Corey Runge says a woman called 911 to report that she had been confronted by a man armed with a gun. Officers located 78-year old John Hamilton who refused to drop his weapon. Officers Daniel Beckwith and Travis Rowden stated Hamilton was waiving the gun around and was pointing it at people. Beckwith and Rowden shot Hamilton after he refused to comply with their orders. Hamilton died on scene.
