Clarkdale Voters may decide bond question in November

Registered voters in Clarkdale may be asked in November to decide if the town should use bond money to pay for street repairs and improvements. Town Manager Gayle Maberry says the council asked town staff to create a Citizen’s Committee to review information relating to the Street Repairs/Improvements; the meetings continued through April and May. Depending on the methods of construction, cost estimates have ranged from $5.3-million to $14.7-million. The Committee’s recommendation to the Town Council is to ask voters to approve a $6-million General Obligation Bond with a 10-year maturity date. The council will meet Tuesday afternoon at 3 to consider the recommendation.
