Saturday night was a busy night for Central Arizona Fire and Medical. Officials say crews were dispatched to a structure fire off of Rolling Hills Rd. that started by homeowners using a BBQ grill. Officials say the fire quickly spread from the porch and into the residence. They say while all occupants were able to escape the structure safely and no injuries were reported, the home was a total loss. Officials say crews worked for several hours to put out the fire. While crews were still working the Rolling Hills fire, another structure fire occurred in Prescott Valley on Las Palmas Dr. Officials say crews arrived to find heavy smoke showing from the attic vents of the single family home. All occupants had safely evacuated and crews contained the fire to the chimney and a small area immediately around that. The cause of this fire is under investigation.
