Fugitive wanted for 37 years found in Prescott Valley

Last week, Prescott Valley Police arrested a fugitive who has been in hiding for the past 37-years. Spokesman Jerry Ferguson says they received a notification from the FBI that an escaped fugitive from the Iowa Department of Corrections, Charles Cagley, was living in the 4600 block of Carla Vista Drive in Prescott Valley. He says detectives identified Cagley and confirmed that an active felony extraditable warrant for him was current and he was taken into custody without incident. Ferguson says Cagley was serving 2.5-years for 2-nd degree robbery when he escaped while on work detail at the Newton Correctional Facility in Iowa. Cagley has been living in Yavapai County since 2004 and in Prescott Valley since 2008. Cagley will be extradited back to Iowa.
