The Jerome Fire Department Technical Rope Rescue Team in conjunction with the Verde Valley Fire District, are hosting a multi-agency rope rescue drill in Sycamore Canyon over the weekend. Jerome Fire Assistant Chief Ron Chilston says crews from participating agencies will take part in a simulated rescue, including a 1.5 mile hike into Sycamore to locate the patient. He says crews are engaging in simulated treatment and communications and then will transport the patient out of the canyon via a High Angle Track line. Chilston says the yearly training is open to all area Fire Agencies.
