Coconino National Forest Wilding permits go on sale next week

Coconino National Forest Wilding permits go on sale beginning Monday and trees may be collected until April 13th. Permits will be available for coniferous trees such as Douglas fir, white fir, ponderosa pine, pinyon pine, and juniper only. The wilding season, set during the few weeks while the plants are dormant, is shorter this year because of warm weather and trees being expected to bud earlier. Maps of designated gathering locations, along with transplanting recommendations, are provided with the permit available at Coconino National Forest Supervisor’s Office, Flagstaff and Mogollon Rim Ranger Stations.
