New Director means changes are coming to Yavapai County Development Services

A few months ago, David C. Williams was appointed as Yavapai County Development Services Director, and as most Directors do, he has taken some time to assess the current situation and is starting to make some changes to the department. Williams says they have had some issues with plan turnaround times and are working to do whatever it takes to get those times back to our goal of two weeks and that since his appointment, Development Services has already been able to reduce plan review times by 50%. Williams also says they started a new monthly “Lunch and Learn” program that will help Contractors, Designers, Builders, and Do-It-Yourselfers, submit plans that require fewer corrections. The next Lunch and Learn is at 11:00 AM on April 12th in Prescott and will cover topics such as lot line adjustments, tiny homes, bed and breakfast and short-term rentals and home-based occupations. For more information and to RSVP, contact Development Services Annex at 771-3214.
