Sunday afternoon around 4:30, Flagstaff Police responded to a commercial business on the 6500 block of East Route 66 for a report of a person driving a quad around the parking lot and stealing copper. Sergeant Cory Runge says upon arrival officers were initially unable to locate the subject but later found a person driving a quad around the area of Rain Valley Road and attempted to initiate a traffic stop. Runge says the suspect fled and refused to stop even after the officer turned on lights and sirens. He says the officer terminated the pursuit for safety reasons due to high speeds and the quad driving into areas where a patrol vehicle could not. Runge says the suspect was wearing a black ski mask, green jacket, black pants and driving a quad. Anyone with information is asked to call Flagstaff Police or Silent Witness.
