DPS is remembering a fallen Trooper today. On this day in 1979, 46-year old Trooper, John Walker was shot and killed while working an undercover cocaine case. He was sitting in his car at Tucson International Airport when he was shot. The shooter, 28-year old Genaro Celaya, was captured a short time later with Walker’s flash roll in his possession. Celaya is serving a life sentence in prison.
