5/12 YCSO is launching a new program on May 18-th, designed to reduce recidivism in the jail. The Sheriff’s Office is the first in the state to implement Inmate Growth Naturally and Intentionally Through Education or I.G.N.I.T.E and is 36-th in the nation to adopt the program. The goal is to educate inmates so when they’re released, they become contributing members to the community. The public can learn more about the program by attending a grand opening scheduled for May 18-th at 10-am at the Camp Verde Detention Center.
