5/13 Mark Ellis was captured Tuesday evening, hiding in a car, in Prescott. The Yavapai County Attorney’s Office issued a warrant for his arrest after he was convicted. Ellis vanished before his trial was over. The 33-year-old was on trial for trying to extort $17-thousand from his employer. Ellis faked his own kidnapping and tried to get his employer to pay the ransom so he wouldn’t be killed. The investigation determined Ellis needed the money to pay off a gambling debt. Ellis was found guilty of Attempted Fraud Schemes, Attempted Theft and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
