5/12 Due to extreme fire conditions, the Coronado National Forest in southern Arizona is now under Stage-2 Fire Restrictions. The restrictions went into place this morning at 8-am. All campfires and open burning are banned, smoking is limited to inside a vehicle or building, no target shooting and there are restrictions on welding, grinding and mowing. Propane powered devices are allowed. Tonto National Forest is also under Stage-2 Fire Restrictions and the Apache-Sitgreaves is under Stage-1 Fire Restrictions. Stage-2 restrictions are also in place on State Trust Lands within Cochise, Graham, Greenlee, Pima, Pinal and Santa Cruz Counties.
