6/3 Ponderosa Fire wants to clear up some confusion when it comes to fire restrictions within their jurisdiction. Officials say Coconino County and Coconino National Forest are both under Stage 1 Fire Restrictions. Kaibab National Forest currently has no restrictions, but fire danger is “HIGH”. The community of Parks is bordered by both National Forests so Coconino County has not put Parks under restrictions. In this type of situation, it’s always best to call your local fire jurisdiction to find out if any restrictions are in place before you burn.
