5/27 Prescott National Forest officials say they found several illegal and abandoned campfiresafter the Memorial Day weekend. Officials remind the public that Stage-1 Fire Restrictions are in place across most of northern Arizona. The only area not currently under restrictions is on the Kaibab National Forest. Stage-1 restrictions mean campfires are only allowed in designated fire rings, smoking is limited to inside buildings and vehicles and target shooting is prohibited. Campfires should be cool to the touch before being left unattended.
