10/1 Monday, just before 5-pm, Payson Police responded to the Circle K on the Beeline Highway on a report a man was threatening 2-other customers with a knife. Officials say Christopher Kelly started arguing with another patron in the store when he was asked to leave. Kelly left, but then returned with a knife and began threatening the person he had been arguing with as well as another person who was trying to calm the situation down. Kelly fled the store and barricaded himself inside home. As two different SWAT teams began to respond, Kelly surrendered and was taken into custody. He was jailed on weapons related aggravated assault charges.
