New World Screwworm Identified in Animals in Cochise and now Greenlee County

11/5 The Arizona Department of Agriculture says New World Screwworm has been detected in a ram and horse near Duncan in Greenlee County. The animals are 72-miles away from the last cases reported, which involved a dog and horse in Cochise County in the past week. Officials say the domestic animals in the most recent cases have no known travel history so it’s unclear how they came into contact with the disease. Infested zones have been established in both counties.
