9/4 The National Interagency Fire Center says the National Preparedness Level in the country was reduced from 5, the highest level, to 4, this morning. Officials say there are currently 77-large fires being suppressed across the U.S. with 18,400-peronnel assigned to the fires. The National Preparedness level was reduced due to improving fire weather conditions across multiple geographic areas and a significant decline in orders for resources. The country was under National Preparedness Level 5 for 48-days.
