L&L Ordered to Pay Over $34-Million in Restitution for Defrauding Az’s Medicaid Program

5/13 Attorney General Kris Mayes says the Maricopa County Superior Court ordered L & L Investments, to pay more than $34.2-million in fines and restitution following the company’s felony conviction for defrauding Arizona’s Medicaid program through fraudulent sober living home claims. The company was indicted in 2021. The investigation uncovered multiple fraudulent billing schemes that drained millions from AHCCCS under the appearance of providing behavioral health services. At sentencing in August 2024, the company was fined $4-million and sentenced to 7-years of probation. The court deferred a decision on restitution until this month’s hearing.
