11/3 ADOT says there will be intermittent east and westbound lane restrictions on I-40, between Bellemont and Flagstaff, Wednesday evening through Friday morning, between 9-pm and 5-am each night. Crews will be installing loop detectors and road surface state sensors, which monitor the temperature of the roadway. This will allow ADOT to adjust the speed limit on variable speed limit signs, which are also being installed. The speed limit can be adjusted based on the current weather conditions. This is being done in an effort to reduce the number of crashes during weather related events.
