8/07 Sentencing took place this week, in Yavapai County Superior Court, for a former Prescott Police Officer charged with manslaughter. Brian Sutton was sentenced to 7-years in prison for the shooting death of 34-year-old Daniel Leslie. June 8-th, 2024, Sutton responded to a 911 call reporting domestic violence. When he arrived, he tried to make contact with Leslie, who began to walk away. When Leslie began to run toward the carport, Sutton fired 3-rounds, killing Leslie. The investigation determined Leslie was unarmed at the time he was shot and killed. Sutton was arrested and charged with manslaughter.
