Forest Projects Impacting Outdoor Recreation Near Stoneman Lake/Cherry/Brentwood

11/4 Game and Fish says 3-forest health projects, being conducted by the Arizona Department of Forestry, may impact outdoor recreation. Crews are currently working to thin over 3,500-acres, on the Coconino National Forest, east of I-17 and south of Stoneman Lake Road. Officials say work is also being conducted on 1,700-acres on the Prescott National Forest, west of Cherry. Both of these projects should be finished in a year. There’s also a 1,300-acre project being conducted on the Apache-Sitgreaves National Forest in the Brentwood area. The Brentwood project should be finished by the end of 2029.
