7/09 The Flagstaff City Council voted 5-to-2 to allow a building to be demolished so a Hilton Graduate Hotel and parking garage can be built in its place. The building is located at 19 West Birch Avenue. The council approved the appeal of a Certificate of Economic Hardship for demolition. The tear down can begin after the 15-day Notice of Decision appeal period. The Heritage Preservation Commission will then consider the application to ensure the design is appropriate in the Downtown Historic Overlay Zone.
