9/22 Trust for Public Land, Chino Valley, the Prescott Climbers Coalition and Yavapai County announced the permanent protection of Upper Sullivan’s Canyon. The area is located along the upper stretches of the Verde River and has attracted climbers since the mid 1970’s. The location is also used by local fire departments for search and rescue training. The town of Chino Valley now owns the land and says it will remain open to the public.
