9/23 Game and Fish released 18-black footed ferrets on the night of September 14-th, in Yavapai and Coconino Counties. The endangered animals were released in the Garland Prairie and Aubrey Valley/Double O Ranch areas. Black Footed ferret populations dropped significantly in the 20-th century due to habitat loss and disease. Game and Fish is looking for volunteers to help with a population count this fall.
