8/25 ADOT released the finalists for the annual “Safety Message Contest”. The public is being asked to vote on the messages; the deadline is this Thursday. ADOT says they received over 1,700-message ideas and whittled the list down to 10. The 2-messages chosen will appear on ADOT overhead message boards as part of an ongoing safety campaign to influence driver behavior. Arizonans can view the finalists and vote on their favorite traffic safety message at azdot.gov/signcontest.
The finalists are:

- THAT PHONE? DROP IT LIKE IT’S HOT
- THERE IS NO SEASON TO BE A SPEED DEMON
- KEEP YOUR COOL, EASE OFF THE FUEL

- AVOID THE WRECKS BY AVOIDING THE TEXTS
- LIFE HAS NO REPLAY, DRIVE THE RIGHT WAY
- WATCH THE ROAD, NOT THE SCREEN
- DON’T LET THAT TEXT MAKE YOU CRASH OUT
- MAIN CHARACTERS ALWAYS WEAR SEATBELTS
