The Arizona Department of Transportation advises drivers to plan for lane restrictions on State Route 87 between the junction with State Route 260 and Lake Mary Road from Tuesday, Sept. 5, through late October.
Drivers should allow for extra travel time while the following daytime restrictions are in place from 5 a.m. to 6 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays, and 5 a.m. to noon on Fridays, as needed:
- SR 87 will be intermittently narrowed to one lane in each direction between just north of the junction with SR 260 and Lake Mary Road (mileposts 283 – 292).
- Brief full closures may occur while work is underway.
- On-site flaggers and a pilot car will guide traffic through the work zone.
- The speed limit will be reduced in the work zone.
- A 12-foot vehicle width restriction will be in place. Wider loads can be accommodated with 12 hours advance notice.
- Drivers should be prepared to come to a complete stop when approaching and driving through the work zone.
The restrictions are needed so crews can safely complete vegetation removal along this section of SR 87.
