APS Restoring Power to 90 Customers in Sedona/Cottonwood and Cornville

APS crews are preparing to restore power to customers still affected by severe storms and flooding in the Sedona, Cottonwood and Cornville communities. Floodwaters submerged APS electrical equipment and washed away some customers’ equipment. As of this afternoon, around 90 customers in those areas remain without power.

While APS crews were able to reroute and restore power to more than 800 customers who were originally impacted, our teams must wait until floodwaters recede before they can safely reach affected equipment and assess damage.  Once access is safe, crews will inspect equipment, clear debris, make repairs or replacements and test the equipment before restoring service.

APS is staging trucks, materials and crews needed for restoration, including additional line workers from the metro Phoenix area.

Customers can check the outage map at aps.com/outage for estimated restoration times and information on area shelters.

Separately, APS is answering the call for assistance from the American Red Cross. The disaster relief agency asked for employee volunteers to staff shelters in multiple central and northern Arizona communities where people had to evacuate their homes. Approximately 20 APS employees are assisting in the effort.
