10/21 The Citizens Water Advocacy Group or CWAG will celebrate the upper Verde River being designated as an Outstanding Arizona Water by the Arizona Department of Environmental Quality. The designation protects the water quality in Sycamore Creek and the Verde River upstream of the confluence with Sycamore Creek. The Sierra Club has been trying to get this designation since 2012. Next, they’ll work to designate the river a Wild and Scenic River. The celebration will take place on Saturday, November 7-th, at 11-am, on Perkinsville Bridge, which is located 22-miles east of Chino Valley on Perkinsville Road. Pre-registration is required.
