10/15 The national preparedness level dropped to 1 Wednesday. The National Interagency Fire Center says the number was lowered due to the fact agencies are using local sources and not federal sources to deal with any fires that break out. Weather conditions have improved across the country and resources are available if needed to respond to fires. In addition, the potential for significant wildland fires is expected to remain minimal.
