9/22 the National Interagency Fire Center says the National Preparedness Level has been reduced from 3-to-2 today. The reduction is due to a significant decrease in wildland fire activity. Ample resources are available for fire response. Nationwide, there are currently 31-uncontained large fires and 9,701-firefighters and support personnel assigned. Officials say when the preparedness level drops to 2 or lower, National Fire News is only updated on Fridays as opposed to every day.
