9/16 The National Interagency Fire Center says firefighters responded to 60-new fires Tuesday, including 9-new large incidents. Firefighters are currently working to contain 61-uncontained large fires across the country. Officials say the National Preparedness Level remains at 3, with more than 11,500-personnel assigned to incidents nationwide. The Southern Area is the highest-priority Geographic Area, with 9-new large incidents and 15-uncontained large fires. In the Rocky Mountain Geographic Area, there are 5-uncontained large fires with moderate to minimal fire behavior.
