9/16 Grand Canyon Park officials say human remains were found in the canyon Monday, near Crystal Rapids. The remains were recovered and turned over to the Coconino County Medical Examiner for cause of death and positive identification. It’s not clear if the remains are those of 53-year-old Timothy Smith of Wyoming who was washed away by flood waters on August 29-th, or someone else. No other details have been released.
