9/14 Flagstaff is notifying voters of 2-propositions that will be on the November 3-rd, General Election ballot. Proposition-404 would fund 77-additional public safety positions, such as firefighters, paramedics, wildland fire management personnel, and dispatch call takers. Prop-404 would increase the local sales tax by 0.5%, which is would add an extra 50-cents on a $100-purchase in the city. Proposition-405 would fund the construction of the Wildland Fire Management Facility, a new fire station, expansion of the Flagstaff Police Department and Evidence Warehouse facilities, and a variety of public safety equipment improvements. Prop-405 would authorize a $40-million bond, which would not increase property taxes.
