8/28 The Arizona Department of Forestry says crews were successful in tying together the perimeter around the Campwood Fire, burning 5-miles northeast of Bagdad. Officials say firefighters worked along Campwood Road to the west and along the north side at the head of the fire. Sparse fuels are helping along the east and southsides of the lightning sparked blaze. Crews were also successful in pulling the fire off the steep terrain and into an area easier to fight. The fire remains 0% contained at 1,018-acres. Much of the new acreage is due to the burning operations, which continue today. The lightning caused fire started last Sunday.
