8/17 Early Friday morning, YCSO Forest Patrol responded to an SOS text from an 88-year-old man who was stranded with his dog, on a dirt road, between Carefree and Bloody Basin Road. The man had been stuck in muddy conditions for a day and was in an area without cell service. The stranded man was able to use the SOS text feature on his phone, which YCSO used to pinpoint his location. The man and his dog were rescued with no injuries reported.
