8/07 There was a drowning at Roosevelt Lake last Sunday night. Gila County Sheriff’s officials say the drowning occurred across from Cholla Bay. An individual jumped off a boat into the lake to cool off. The person began to struggle, went under the water, and never resurfaced. Divers arrived on Monday and have been searching the area all week. Thursday, a boater found the victim floating in the water. The victim is identified as 37-year-old Ruperto Cervantes of Tucson. His body was turned over to the Medical Examiners Office to determine exact cause of death.
