8/06 The Camp Verde Marshals Office made a sizeable methamphetamine bust just before 1-am Tuesday morning. A deputy stopped the vehicle at Highway-260 and Cherry Creek Road. Two K9’s alerted to drugs in the vehicle, but they hadn’t been directed to do so. A search located 200-grams of meth and the driver, George Leo Krekelberg, of Cottonwood, was arrested on felony drug charges. The passenger in the vehicle was released. Krekelberg admitted he was returning from Phoenix where he purchased the drugs. The investigation continues.
