8/05 The National Interagency Fire Center says firefighters responded to 97-new fires Tuesday, across the country. Firefighters are currently working to contain 94-large fires with more than 28,700-personnel assigned to the blazes. The worst fires are burning in Oregon and Washington where 49-fires are being fought. So far this year, 45,184-fires have burned more than 5.4-million acres across the U.S.
