8/05 A Dewey-Humboldt woman was sentenced to 62.5-years in prison after being found guilty of Fraudulent Schemes and Artifices. Karen Marie Northcutt was also found guilty of theft, aggravated taking the identity of another, tampering with physical evidence, trafficking in stolen property and money laundering in the first degree. An investigation into Northcutt began in 2024 when a tip alleged Northcutt was stealing money from the Prescott branch of Habitat For Humanity. The 62-year-old was the Executive Director at the time. She used the organizations money to pay her mortgage, utilities, renovations on her home and bought some vehicles. It was determined she stole $825-thousand from the non-profit.
