7/16 Coconino National Forest put out a new forest order yesterday that keeps Stage-2 Fire Restrictions in place, across the entire forest, through September 30-th. Campfires and other open fires are prohibited, smoking is limited to inside buildings or vehicles and target shooting is prohibited. There are also restrictions when chainsaws and welding and grinding can be done. Temporary road closures are also in effect on portions of the Flagstaff Ranger District as well as locations in and around the Pocket Fire. The Coconino National Forest released several maps showing what’s open and what’s closed. These restrictions may be lifted sooner, if the monsoon delivers on moisture.
