7/13 The National Interagency Fire Center says 105-new fires were reported nationwide Sunday, including 6-new large fires. Firefighters are currently working to contain 46-uncontained large fires across the country. The national Preparedness Level remains at 4. Firefighters continue responding to active incidents across the West while new large fires emerged in the Great Basin, Northern California, and Alaska. The public is reminded to check local fire restrictions before heading outdoors, avoid parking vehicles on dry grass and secure trailer chains or anything metal that could drag and create sparks.
