7/09 The Greater Flagstaff Forest Partnership says they’ve started a forest restoration project on Observatory Mesa in Flagstaff. Crews are conducting thinning operations on about 530-acres in an effort to make the area less prone to wildfires. The entire project should take about 6-months to complete. The project is funded through a Congressionally Directed Spending appropriation totaling $816,779, secured through Senator Mark Kelly and former Senator Kyrsten Sinema.
