7/02 Grand Canyon National Park law enforcement are looking for the person that damaged a Hopi headpiece inside Desert View Watchtower on Wednesday, June 17-th. The item was damaged sometime between 11-am and 4-pm. Witnesses reported a visitor climbed on top of a piece of furniture to take a picture when they lost their balance and fell, knocking the headpiece to the floor. It broke in several places. The man then left the building. The man was described as a Caucasian-American in his 60’s or 70’s, about 6-feet tall, with a slender build, white or gray hair and clean shaven. He was wearing cargo shorts. Anyone with information is asked to contact Grand Canyon law enforcement.
