6/17 The Forest Service published a proposed climbing directive. It’s the agency’s first national direction for managing recreational climbing on national forests and grasslands that includes guidance for the use and maintenance of fixed anchors and equipment. Officials say the climbing community is growing with an estimated 10.3-million people participating. The proposed policy can be viewed and comments submitted through the Comment and Analysis Response Application
