5/14 Early Wednesday morning, Highlands Fire responded to a HAZMAT call involving a semi-rollover crash on I-17, near Kachina Village and Mountainaire. The semi was headed southbound when for unknown reasons it crossed through the median and both northbound lanes before crashing about 200-yards in the forest. The semi was hauling 2-thousand gallons of naphtha solvent, which had to be handled by a hazardous materials cleanup team. The driver of the semi was transported to the hospital for treatment of undisclosed injuries.
