AZ Gas Up 6 Cents Since Last Week/27 Cents Nationally

5/01 AAA Arizona says gas prices saw a spike this week, jumping 6-cents in Arizona to $4.67 for a gallon of gas. Officials say Arizonans are now paying $1.36 more than this time last year when it was $3.31. Across the United States, the national average for a gallon of gas increased by 27-cents in one week and is now $4.30 per gallon, which is $1.12 higher than this time last year. Officials say oil prices have surged above $100 a barrel with no indication of when the Strait of Hormuz will reopen. Phoenix has the highest price in the state at $4.78 while Tucson has the lowest price at $4.47. The national average per kilowatt hour of electricity at a public EV charging station went up by 1-cent this past week to 41 cents. In Arizona it’s 44-cents, up 3-cents from last week.
