4/15 Prescott gave an update on the Willow Creek Gravity Sewer Project, which includes lowering water levels at Willow Lake so a new gravity sewer main can be installed. As part of the project, an archaeological study was conducted and has been completed. Archaeologists identified cultural features and an extensive number of artifacts as well as human remains. Due to the number of items found, the archaeological phase of the work took longer than expected. The remains were turned over to the Hopi Tribe. Construction of the new gravity sewer main is expected to begin this summer so Willow Lake water levels will remain low.
