4/16 Game and Fish is investigating the poaching of young bull elk near Flagstaff. Officials say on the weekend of March 14-th and 15-th, 2-yearling bull elk were found killed in Unit 11M near Forest Roads-714 and 714C, which is about 2.5-miles northeast of Mountainaire and 2-miles west of Lower Lake Mary. One animal had been partially harvested while the other was left to waste. Game and Fish say this area is frequented by residents, hikers, and mountain bikers. Anyone with information on this case is asked to contact Operation Game Thief hotline at 1-800-352-0700. A reward of up to $3,500 is being offered for information that leads to an arrest.
